Position: Intern – Sales and Business Development

Location: (Remote, USA)

Length: 10-15 weeks (flexible around school schedule)

 

BASE Sports Group (BASE) is the national leader in amateur sports partnerships. BASE is growing exponentially – changing the way the sports market approaches sponsorship. We work with the largest girls basketball event in the world, we represent the largest high school baseball podcast, and we work with many other exciting youth and community sports properties.

BASE helps youth and community sports events and facilities source, negotiate, and execute sponsorship opportunities in 30 states, including over 350 events in more than 25 sports and 12 million individuals.

Responsibilities

  • Report directly to BASE Director of Partnerships
  • Develop an understanding of key verticals and create prospective lists of future opportunities for the BASE partnership sales team
  • Coordinate outreach and schedule meetings and phone calls that lead to new business opportunities
  • Serve in a data entry capacity, ensuring all partnership discussions are noted (including but not limited to data mining and research)
  • Collect and maintain current contact information for key employees, partners, and vendors
  • Assist the partnership sales team throughout the entire sales cycle, including prospecting, sales material preparation, and documenting terms and agreements
  • Attend regular meetings and communicate with the partnership sales team on a regular basis
  • Proactively follow-up on action items and deliverables as assigned
  • Assist with internal events and meeting preparation
  • Take and distribute meeting notes as needed 
  • Miscellaneous responsibilities assigned by BASE staff

 

Qualifications

  • Have an excellent attitude and ability to work well in both individual and group settings
  • Proficient writing and public speaking skills
  • Demonstrate digital literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Be able to generate original and imaginative solutions into business opportunities
  • Demonstrate a forward-thinking and positive attitude
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Strong desire to learn about our business and grow your professional career
  • Effectively express ideas verbally and in writing
  • Flexible and adaptable work schedule for changing organizational needs

Salary Range

Must be currently enrolled in a college institution. Some educational institutions require prior approval before the start of an internship for academic credit. It is the responsibility of the student to check with their institution to be sure they meet any requirements before they accept a position. This position is FLSA compliant.
