Financial Analyst, College of Medicine

Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Financial Analyst, College of Medicine - Boca Raton, FL.

The Financial Analyst will report to the Associate Director and work with the Senior Finance Coordinator and the Director of the College of Medicine’s Finance Department to provide, develop, implement, monitor, and report on budgetary and financial operations of the College. 

Summary of Responsibilities:

Report on financial performance and prepare for regular leadership reviews.

Assists upper management in the decision-making process by preparing financial reports in a timely manner.

Assists the Associate Director with the development of budgets and financial reports as needed.

Assist with the development of annual budgets as well as the quarterly financial review.

Review reports and ensure that financial information has been properly recorded.

Review monthly Graduate Medical Education reconciliations to ensure proper billing practices.

Perform financial forecasting and reconciliation of accounts.

Report on financial performance and prepare for regular leadership reviews.

Assist in the preparation of monthly P&L report for Primary Care practice(s).

Assist in month-end closing of Clinical Practice Organization.

Analyze and assist in posting insurance/patient payments for our Primary Care practice(s).

Support College of Medicine Finance staff operationally with other duties as needed.

Coordinate with other areas of the University (Purchasing, Foundation, and Cashier’s Office).

Perform other job-related duties as assigned, for example, journal entries, requisitions, budget amendments, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization; or bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two (2) years of appropriate experience required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS: 
Bachelor’s degree in finance, business or accounting preferred. 

Advanced knowledge in Excel and Excel formulas and functions. 

Strong analytical and data gathering skills. 

Experience with business intelligence software and with a general ledger.

Experience with medical office accounting and/or EMR software.

PREFERRED ATTRIBUTES OR ABILITIES: 
Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills highly.

Ability to work under pressure, adjust to rapid change and dependability. 

Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

 

Salary:

$50,000 - $55,000 per year

Exempt Administrative, Managerial, Professional (AMP)

Work Days and Hours:

Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., including some evenings and weekends as needed.

Eligible for flex scheduling at the discretion of the supervisor.
