The Specialty & Surplus Digital Data Services team leverages Agile software development principles to achieve success in its support of the business.  We are a dynamic organization always on the lookout for intelligent, capable employees who are passionate about their career.  We seek an Entry-Level Developer to join our team and help us continue to provide a high level of support to our business partners, while continuing forward to our exciting future in the cloud. The Digital Data Services Developer will work with a group of highly motivated and experienced technologists who have spent the past several years working hard to implement innovative tools to the C&F Surplus & Specialty Division for quick and scalable business solutions.

 

What you will do for C&F:

 

 

This position is to support in-house, as well as cloud-based, data driven development initiatives, which involves: 

  • Your initial primary objective is to get up to speed quickly and become the primary support person on our Audit application, Visual Audit.
  •  
    • This will include front end and back-end support, as well as management of the backlog with the business unit.
    • You will work with both the Audit team, as well as with the other Digital team members working to support this system.
  • Working with the full suite of AWS Services (CLI, EC2, S3, Lambda, DMS, Glue, etc…)
  • Working with databases such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB
  • Working with Microsoft SQL Server tools (SSMS, SSIS, SSRS)
  • Working with databases and data pipelines in Snowflake
  • Data Lake development for reporting, analytics and machine learning purposes
  • Data ingestion using Fivetran, AirByte or other near-real-time data intake tools
  • Working with the various business units to analyze need, recommend solutions, and work with the team to prioritize, plan, and execute on deliverables
  • Support and development of solutions for various applications within the division
  • Using Confluence and JIRA to manage tasks, projects, and documentation
  • Working with version control software such as Git and Bitbucket
  • Communicate with other Digital teams, as well as the Business Units, to clearly define project goals, discuss timelines, and provide input on solutions.

  • SQL background
  • 0-2 years of professional working experience
  • Internship experience a plus
  • Ability to take ownership and see tasks through to completion
  • Degree or certification in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Business, or equivalent, with a career path and/or career goals centered in IT
  • Will abide by departmental policies and procedures, including authority levels, to comply with C&F’s management controls.
  • Experience with Production Support and Troubleshooting a plus
  • Great communication, note taking, and organizational skills
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services a plus
  • In-depth knowledge of one or more of these programming languages a plus: Python, JavaScript, Java and similar
  • Experience working with APIs a plus

Salary ranges are available for all positions at this location, taking into account roles with a comparable level of responsibility and impact in the relevant labor market and these salary ranges are regularly reviewed and adjusted in accordance with prevailing market conditions. The annualized base pay for the advertised position, located in the specified area, ranges from a minimum of $41,700.00 to a maximum of $94,900.00. The actual compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the market pay for the jobs at each level, the responsibilities and skills required for each job, and the employee’s contribution (performance) in that role. To be considered within market range, a salary is at or above the minimum of the range. You may also have the opportunity to participate in discretionary equity (stock) based compensation and/or performance-based variable pay programs.
