#4357 - Anticipated Deaf/Hard of Hearing Teacher

The successful candidate for this position must possess a valid and active Pennsylvania Department of Education certificate for Hearing Impairment.  This position supports the hearing needs across students with special needs as well as students being determined for possible special education eligibility.  The candidate should be well versed in deaf/hard of hearing assessments, specific interventions that can be implemented both in individual and group therapy, familiarity with the evaluation, re-evaluation and IEP process, billing, and assistive technology for students with unique hearing disorders.  The professional candidate(s) selected for this assignment understands and agrees that they may be required to teach in a blended or online format as requested by administration.

The candidate will be required to provide direct therapy as well as consultation to teams.  This role maintains case management of students with Deafness/Hearing Impairments as well as is a contributor providing DHH support as a related service across multiple grade levels.  Previous experience in the school setting and experience with students with wide ranges of hearing needs, sign language, knowledge of hearing assistive technology, and interpreter services are preferred.  

 

If hired for employment, the applicant must be able to submit the following:

 

  1. Criminal Record Check (less than one year old)
  2. PA Child Abuse History Clearance (less than one year old)
  3. FBI Finger Print Clearance (less than one year old)
  4. TB Test/Mantoux (less than 3 months old)
  5. Physical - if applicable (less than 1 year old)
