Position Summary:
This position is a hands-on, customer-facing role responsible for delivering an exceptional coffee and guest service experience while supporting the daily shop operations. With a strong service mindset and attention to detail, the barista plays a critical role in the preparation and presentation to customers as well as creating a warm, welcoming environment. In addition, this position contributes directly to efficiency, cleanliness, and service flow, helping ensure the coffee shop operates smoothly, professionally, and in alignment with established standards and values.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve coffee, espresso-based beverages, and non-coffee drinks according to established recipes and quality standards
- Greet customers warmly and create a welcoming, culturally respectful atmosphere for all guests
- Take orders accurately and provide efficient service
- Handle cash and card transactions accurately and responsibly
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including espresso machines, counters, dishes, seating areas, etc.
- Restock coffee beans, milks, syrups, cups, and other coffee shop supplies as needed
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and health guidelines at all times
Minimum Qualifications
- No prior barista experience required; on-the-job training provided
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work in fast-paced, customer-facing environment
- Reliable transportation and punctuality
- Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team
- Respect for diverse cultures and commitment to maintaining an inclusive, welcoming environment
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and/or flexible shifts
- Background check is required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a coffee shop, restaurant, or customer service role
- Familiarity or interest in coffee, food service, or hospitality
- Ability to multitask and stay organized during busy periods
