AI & Software Development Intern – Subscription Retention Startup

We’re looking for a motivated, tech-savvy student (or recent grad) to join as our first technical intern. You’ll help build and improve the core AI features of SubGuard, working directly with the founder on a high-impact product that solves a real pain point for small subscription businesses.

Key Responsibilities:

•  Assist in developing the backend AI logic for churn risk prediction (using Python, simple ML models, or LLM integrations like OpenAI/Anthropic APIs).

•  Build/refine data ingestion pipelines (e.g., processing Google Sheets uploads, photo-based sign-ins, basic payment data from Square/PayPal, or attendance logs—keeping it simple for non-tech owners).

•  Create user-friendly dashboards, automated email/SMS templates, and win-back sequences tailored to gyms and other subscription services.

•  Test features with real pilot clients (starting with local Pittsburgh gyms, then expanding to yoga studios, meal prep, etc.).

•  Contribute to MVP iterations: from prototype to polished product (full-stack elements if interested: React/Node or similar).

•  Document code, processes, and learnings for future scaling across different subscription types.
