Job Summary:
The Career and Life Skills program Coordinator will lead and direct Owensboro Community and Technical College’s Career and Life Skills program, a Comprehensive Transition and Postsecondary (CTP) program for students with intellectual disabilities. This position reports to the Associate Dean of Student Affairs. This position is grant funded through June 2026 with the possibility of a fund extension.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Recruit students for the program and assist students with application, financial aid, advising, and registration processes.
- Recruit, train, support, and supervise peer mentors (approximately 5-7 peer mentors).
- Teach GEN 102 Foundations of Learning, GEN 175 Career and Life Skills Development, and GEN 276 Employment and Professional Skills.
- Assist students in developing work-based training opportunities on and off-campus and foster inclusive excellence by connecting students with campus organizations, groups, and activities.
- Monitor student progress, collect and report on student outcome data.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Special Education, Education, Human Services, Counseling, or related field is required.
- Three (3) years of relevant work experience is required.
- Master’s degree and five (5) years of relevant work experience is preferred.
