PAPER CUTTER OPERATOR:

H&H Graphics located in Vernon Hills, IL is looking for an experienced guillotine paper cutter operator to operate a 45-inch Polar cutter or equivalent. Candidates should have a working knowledge of setting up, running and maintaining cutting equipment. This position requires you to stand and operate a cutter for 6 to 8 hours per day.

Responsibilities:

  • Thoroughly reviews and reads job jacket to understand the detailed information for each job and customer specifications.
  • Works closely with others to cut complex jobs that may have sequencing and collating requirements.
  • Ability to read a ruler and follow measurements.
  • Performs post-cutting duties which include putting samples in the job jackets, ensuring customer samples are the best quality, and notifying supervisors of any shortages.
  • Checks jobs for consistent quality, correct quantities and overall accuracy.
  • Performs machine maintenance, including changing cutter blade, and ensures that machines are clean and functioning properly.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and requested, including assisting with production, and helping out in other areas of the operation or facility.
  • Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations
  • Maintain departmental housekeeping standards, such as keeping floors swept and absent of debris that may be a work hazard
  • Willing to work flexible hours and work overtime on occasion.

Requirements:

  • High School education or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one year experience operating a guillotine paper cutter.
  • Comfortable setting cutting programs within the cutter’s computer system.
  • Must be able to speak and read English and understand detailed oral and written instructions.
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Walking and standing about 95% of the time.
  • Able to lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Must have excellent attendance.
