
ART on Broadway - Stage Management Fellow
ABOUT US: Directed by Scott Ellis, this revival of ART by Yasmina Reza, translated by Christopher Hampton will play a limited 16.5 weeks engagement this fall on Broadway at the Music Box Theatre. ART stars Bobby Cannavale, James Corden and Neil Patrick Harris.
First rehearsal is Monday, July 28, 2025; first preview is Thursday August 21, 2025; and opening night is Tuesday September 16, 2025.
ART on Broadway is seeking candidates from historically underrepresented groups for the position of Stage Management Fellow.
“Under-Represented Group(s)” means people in diverse and under-represented communities including without limitation, people who identify themselves as women, Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC), Latine, Asian and/or Pacific Islander (API), Middle Eastern and/or North African and/or South Asian (MENASA), people with disabilities, within the LGBTQIA+ community, genderqueer or non-binary, or those who identify with a religion, culture, age, ethnicity, nationality, or alienage that have been historically under-represented in theatrical productions, or people having a combination of these attributes.
No prior commercial theater experience is required for this fellowship. Relevant theatrical experience as well as experience from other fields, not-for-profits, or from an educational setting, are welcomed – and a love of the theater is encouraged!
Fellows must reside in New York State during the duration of their fellowship.
The Stage Management Fellow will be offered on-boarding, mentoring, training, and networking in the following ways:
- Stage managers facilitate communication and support across all departments of the production. They are involved in the organization of the day-to-day running of a production in the pre-rehearsal, rehearsal and performance phases of the show. They liaise with the producers, general managers, creative team, production team and communicate with the full company. They are involved in the supervision of the backstage running of the show and call all technical cues during performances and the long-term maintenance of the show.
- Stage Management Fellow will be mentored by the production stage manager and stage manager through the week of the official Opening Night.
- They will be on-boarded and trained, while assisting the stage management team in rehearsals and technical rehearsals.
- The aim is to sharpen the Stage Management Fellow’s practical stage management skills and forge ongoing connections and networking.
