Human Resource Business Partner

The Impact You Will Have

As a Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP) you will have a pivotal role in driving HR initiatives and enhancing operational efficiency. In this position you will partners with supervisors, managers, and associates within your assigned business units to achieve business outcomes. Your responsibilities span both administrative and strategic domains, including benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy compliance, and recruitment. You will collaborate closely with Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP) leadership, HR peers, Employee Relations (ER), Total Rewards, HR operations, organization effectiveness, and Talent Acquisition to support designated areas effectively.

 

Your Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with associates, supervisors, and managers.
  • Participate in developing HR objectives and systems, including metrics and reports.
  • Assist associates and managers with total rewards inquiries as a first escalation point after AskHR.
  • Provide advice and guidance on performance management, talent management, succession planning, compensation, coaching, talent reviews, and lower-tier employee relations issues.
  • Suggest new procedures and policies to enhance employee experience and HR efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with local and national employment laws.
  • Coordinate new-hire onboarding, ensuring an exceptional first-day experience for managers and above.
  • Handle administrative tasks for offboarding and exit interviews, including HRIS data entry and audits.
  • Conduct fact-finding for associate concerns, conflicts, or complaints, and collaborate with other HRBPs and ER Partners to provide effective resolution recommendations on less complex cases.
  • Address employee concerns, provide guidance on HR policies, and promote engagement.
  • Partner with HR centers of excellence to build management capability, develop individuals and teams, and facilitate an inclusive environment that reflects Blue Cross values.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, generate HR reports, and manage Workday changes/movements.
  • Review reporting alignment and assist in timely updates of Workday data following organizational changes.

 

Your Experience and Attributes

  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices and employment laws.

  • Advanced proficiency in HRIS (Workday) and other HR-related software.

  • Thorough knowledge of HR procedures and policies.
  • Proven success working in an HR department.
  • Resourceful mindset and strong attention to detail.
  • Experience with employee engagement and retention strategies.
  • Proven track record of managing complex HR projects.
  • Strong presentation and training facilitation skills.

 

Required Skill and Experience

  • High school diploma (or equivalency) and legal authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3 or more years of experience in human resources, with a focus on generalist functions.

 

Preferred Skills and Experience:

HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR).

Experience in a similar industry or company size.
